Husayni Madrasah Annual Graduation Nite

Updated 1 December 2009

On 14 November 2009, the Husayni Madrasah Boys Section held their annual Graduation Ceremony.

The programme began with the recitation of verses from Surah-e-Fateha, followed by qasida by the students. The principal, Br. Mohsin Manji had proceeded to Hajj therefore his speech was read out by Alhajj Mehboob Somji; the chairman of the Tabligh Board. In his speech, the principal welcomed the guests and thanked the Madrasah teachers and staff.

To the graduates his message was “My dear graduates, I would like to share the following teachings from our 1st Imam (A.S.):  “Knowledge which remains only on your tongue is very superficial. The essential value of knowledge is that you act upon it.” As graduates of the Husayni Madrasah, you are now ambassadors of our Holy Imam Husayn (A.S). Wherever you choose to go and whatever you decide to do, make sure that your ABCs are in line with the teachings of Islam. “

After a magnificent piece of advice from the principal, the program continued with a talk show where by the students asked various questions to the teachers regarding their thoughts on Madrasah, social aspect and personal issues. The responses from the teachers were a great inspiration to the students as well as the parents.

The two graduates then came up on the podium and gave a very moving and touching farewell speech whereby they hightlighted how Madrasah has shaped them into fine young adults and how they wish there were more years they could spend in madrasah. They also showed their appreciation to their teachers and Madrasah staff. A drama “Are we prepared for the Mahdi” was fantastically presented by the students.

The Madrasah honored its top performing students on academic performance.  Other awards included Quran recitation, Quran hifdh and Brain of the Madrasah. This was followed by the graduation ceremony for class 12. This was a proud moment for the Madrasah as well as the parents. This was one of the rare occasions whereby there were no failures and it was indeed a jewel in the crown for Madrasah.

After pictures, hugs, handshakes and tearful khuda hafiz the programme ended with the MC thanking the guests, sponsors and participants. Delicious dinner was served thereafter.
