On the morning of Friday 13 June 2008, The World Federation received a warm welcome from the children, staff and Board Members of As-Sadiq Islamic School. This inspiring visit was an opportunity to discover the composition, growth and success of the School as well as understand some its current challenges and future vision, goals and objectives.

The morning began with a visit to the School’s Montessori class where the children enthusiastically recited Suras from the Holy Qur’an as well as Arabic chants. The Head of the program then educated the delegation about the dynamic structure of the Montessori program. Thereafter, the group visited the library, the science class as well as the computer lab where they were briefed on the activities of these departments.
The Office Bearers along with the rest of the delegation then gathered in the school’s assembly area where Gulambhai Dinani, Vice President of The World Federation addressed the Grade 8 graduating class. Among other things, he impressed upon these students that they should be thankful for having received a wonderful education at As-Sadiq Islamic School and that they should endeavor to give back of their time and energy to their community as well as the school as volunteers.

Gulambhai Dinani expressed: “I was most delighted and encouraged to see first hand the enthusiasm and akhlaq displayed by the students of As-Sadiq Islamic School. After visiting the different arms of the school, it is clear that the past and present School Board, staff and students have worked extremely hard to bring the school to new heights. The School is indeed an excellent model for other communities wishing to start an Islamic school in their areas. I wish them continued success in the years to come.”

The visit ended with a gathering in the Board Room where discussions of the school’s future plans were initiated by the School Board whilst refreshments were being served.
