LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY IN PETERBOROUGH

This is the only university in Peterborough and offers a range of programmes delivered directly or through a local partner college. All programmes lead to Loughborough University qualifications. The campus building has been recently established in the city centre, with the majority of its programmes taught at this location.

In addition to the programmes offered directly by Loughborough University, two local further education colleges deliver programmes at certificate and diploma level; these programmes are validated by and lead to Loughborough University awards. All students studying these programmes are granted limited access to the university’s city campus.

Peterborough Regional College and Stamford College also offer higher education courses where students can benefit from small tutorial classes. All college students studying programmes validated by Loughborough University will be based at the Stamford Campus. Approximately 100 students study the full-time courses offered by the university.

Accomodation
The university and an approved management firm, Belvoir Property, work together to provide students with accredited accommodation shared with other university students.

The options available are:

1. Accredited level 1: for first-year students in managed accommodation – individual tenancies in a shared house.

2. Accredited level 2: for second and third-year students in managed accommodation – shared tenancy in a shared house.

3. Other non-university accommodation: 

• a room in a house with a family

• a shared house rented privately

• hostel accommodation

Peterborough City

Peterborough is one of the four Environment Cities in Britain. In the heart of the city is the Queensgate Shopping Centre, which houses over 80 “high street” shops. The daily market provides a selection of fresh produce. Peterborough Cathedral, founded in the 15th century, attracts many tourists.

There are 2 Sunni lead mosques but the only purpose built mosque is our Shia mosque which provides an active programme of events for its younger members and children.
