The Seniors Advisory Board (SAB) of the World Federation founded the ‘Hadis-e-Kisa’ Project, a program of the distribution of blankets. This program was first implemented in the year 2004 when 2,500 blankets were distributed, followed by 5,000 blankets in the year 2005. As desired by SAB, mountainous areas of Gilgit in northern parts of Pakistan were selected because most of the population in these Nagar areas are Shia Muslims. In addition, old aged people in these areas face great hardship during the winter as they do not have means of protection against severe cold.
The Seniors of Pakistan recently supplied a further 2,500 blankets to the same mountainous areas of Gilgit. This project was headed by Br AliRaza Lakhani, assisted by Br Shiraz Onali. Br Ghulam Raza (a social worker in Qasimabad, Gilgit) took pains to prepare a list of deserving seniors in seven villages of Nagar – 2 (60km from Gilgit city).

Distribution took place on 7 and 8 January 2007. Brothers AliRaza and Shiraz visited each village and personally delivered the blankets to seniors who assembled at a predetermined place in each village. The head of community in each village was made responsible to deliver the blankets to the seniors who could not reach predetermined place because of their old age and weakness |
The blankets were distributed to the seniors of following villages of Nagar – 2.

The above villages were not covered in the distribution of blankets in the previous two years. The distribution work is planned in such a way that every year few villages are selected. Nearly all the villages of Nager – 2 are now covered. Future distribution will be necessary for Nager – 1 villages, which are in located in the higher areas.
Br AliRaza Lakhani addressed the people assembled at several villages for receiving the blankets. He said the blankets are a gift from Momineen who donated funds to SAB to implement this program. He also explained the message of Hadis-a-Kisa. Br Shiraz Onali distributed 200 copies of Hadis-e-Kisa booklets for the use of the people to whom blankets were distributed.
