The Al-Mahdi Hospital treated 29,420 patients in 2009. The Hospital was established on 12 June 1997 and initially started by providing general out patients’ service. Since then the hospital has improved a great deal and is now a 20 bed hospital. It operates round the clock and all kinds of medical emergencies are taken care of.
SERVICES OFFERED
Among other services, the hospital provides general surgeries, ENT surgeries, neurosurgery, dental care facility, and the Aeinullah Eye Clinic. They have a strong team of staff, some even working round the clock. A few private practitioners also provide free services to the hospital once a week for a few hours. The hospital also comprises of a mini cardiac emergency unit that treats patients brought in emergency cases and moves them to Islamabad Hospital after the patient has been stabilised. Their ambulance service is run free of charge. Al-Mahdi Hospital provides blood transfusion costing PKR 500 every fortnight for patients suffering from Thalassaemia. Al-Mahdi hospital has been serving the local community for 13 years. They arrange free medical camps whenever funds permit to do so.

2009 FINANCIAL STATUS
In 2009, the Al-Mahdi Hospital’s income was PKR 2,895,300 and expenditure was PKR 3,673,000, leaving them at a deficit of PKR 777,700. The hospital generally is a self funding organisation and The World Federation of KSIMC assists in purchasing equipments required when the need arises.
DONATIONS NEEDED
In order for the Al-Mahdi Hospital to continue providing the best in health care to its patients, donations are needed for the hospital to purchase the following equipment:
- Cardiac Monitor - PKR 350,000 / GBP 2,750 / USD 4,100
- Mechanical Ventilator for theatre use - PKR 250,000 / GBP 2,000 / USD 3,000
