October is National Cancer Awareness month; dedicated to increasing awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
There are several factors that may affect the risk of developing cancer including:
- Aging
- Not having children or having children later in life
- Starting the first menstrual period at an early age
- Beginning menopause at a later age
- Family history of breast cancer
