Primary Health Care Projects – India
Patna
- Zainabiya Health Centre provides essential primary health care - curative and preventative care to the needy Shias of Patna.
- Sadaat and non-sadaat medical projects provides secondary health care to the needy Shias all over Bihar. These facilities are made known to all Shias households by house-to-house leaflets (see appendix 1).
- Aeinullah Eye Clinic is providing much needed eye treatment and cataract operations to the needy Shias. Patients from Patna and other parts of Bihar are operated in Patna. Plans are being made to open our own operating facilities.
- A separate fund provides TB treatment medications to the needy Shias.
- All the above projects are running smoothly under the able leadership of Prof. Sami Askari.

Bangalore
- Zainabiya Health Centre provides essential primary health care – curative and preventative care to the needy Shias mainly to the poor in nearby slums of Nilsandra.
- Emergency medical aid is given to the needy Shias when they need specialised treatment.
- Aeinullah Eye Hospital was inaugurated and first cataract operations preformed in our hospital on Wednesday 8th January 2003.
The aim is to become self-sufficient in due course. In conjunctions with Zainabiya Health Centre,pharmaceutical companies and local government Hospital three research projects are being carried out in our centres in the field of diabetes and osteoporosis (brittle bones).
- An ambulance will be acquired soon.
- Phaco emulsification machine will be needed soon.
- Primary Health Care Centres to be established in Pothenahalli and in our Alipur School. A full time doctor and a social worker will serve these two areas as a joint project. In our Zainabiya Child Sponsor Scheme school of Alipur, there are 544 students and the related family members come to 1,943. This population will benefit from our services in the school. Our doctor and our social worker will follow up all cases of sickness and absenteeism and help whenever and wherever a need arises.
- Imam Khomeini Hospital – advised to strengthen one or two specialities. Dr Sajjad will make an assessment and provide his recommendations.
- Kareempur to be provided with a doctor will serve our community at a subsidised rate.
Mumbai
- Our nursery school is running well.
- Prof. Merchant for personal reasons is unable to provide the supervision needed.
- A full time head teacher is to be appointed to ensure full supervision and efficient running of the school.
