On Saturday 13th September, the Imam Hasan Centre in Australia celebrated Imam Hasan’s (as) wilaadat along with its fourth birthday. Attendance was, as is usual for this special night, in high numbers. After Maghribain Namaz, a birthday cake was cut, followed by Iftaar. Dua’s were followed by speeches from special guest visiting from the Imam Husain Islamic Centre, Sheikh Mansour Leghaie and the Centre’s very own Syed Muhammad.

The highlight of the evening was the awards and medals ceremony. This ceremony recognises and rewards all those whose efforts help in the smooth running of the programmes at the Imam Hasan Centre every night of the year. They are awarded annually, on this night, for the year-long service of special volunteers.
MEDAL RECIPIENTS:
Community Service Award:
Aminabai Alimohamed - for actively volunteering with her heart and soul for the last 3 years in the progress of Imam Hasan School and its students and teachers; also for running extra Quran classes at the Centre on Thursday and Saturday nights. The Centre thanks her for all of her professional flower arrangements.
Youth Award:
Br Rizwan Rizvi - for teaching at the school, and developing the Centre’s website. Rizwan has been actively participating at the Centre for more than 2 years and it is very pleasing to see young people develop and mature to take positions of responsibility.
Appreciation Medals:
Sr. Seema Mahdevi - for always being ready to do any work, whether it was teaching, cleaning the halls, vacuuming, or clearing the kitchen, amongst other things.
Sr Farhana Raza Ali - for assisting in the kitchen, for snack roster, niyaaz, and cleaning.
