THE HOLY PROPHET (S) HAS SAID:
O People! The month of God (Ramadhan) has come with His mercies and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all months in the eyes of God. Its days are the best of days, its nights are the best of nights, its hours are the best of hours. This is a month in which you have been invited by Him. You have been given the opportunity in this month to receive the honors from God, the Merciful. Whoever recites Salawaat often, God will keep the scales of his good deeds heavy.
Throughout our Centres around the world this Ramadhan, various Jamaats have organised a range of programs in their quest to make the most of this divine month. From the 19 to 28 Ramadhan, the Shia Muslim Community of BC’s Az-Zahraa Islamic Centre (Vancouver, Canada) initiated the “Az-Zahraa Salawaat Challenge” where all children and youth ages 12 and under are on a mission to recite 100,000 Salawaats or more collectively.
The beautiful Salawaats recited by the youth and children of Az-Zahraa echoed every home, car and Islamic Centre in Vancouver. There are huge benefits of reciting the Salawaat, and in the month of Ramadhan, this is one of the best amaals one can do. The purpose of this initiative was to connect the children and youth of the Centre to Allah (swt) through spirituality of this Blessed month.
GROUPS & GOALS:
There are two groups of participants:
Group A
- 8 years and under
- Goal: to recite 1,000 Salawaats over 10 days
Group B
- 9 to 12 years
- Goal: to recite 5,000 Salawaats over 10 days
Inshallah, by 29 Ramadhan, the Jamaat hopes to collect all of the ‘Salawaat Challenge’ tracking forms to determine how many Salawaats the participants recited altogether.
Let us recite a special Salawaat for all of the children and youth of the Az-Zahraa Islamic Centre for their incredible efforts.
