On Saturday 21 June 2008 – 17th Jamadi Ul Thani, 1429 AH, Zahra Women’s Group of Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya organised a special function to commemorate the Wiladat of Seyyida Fatimatuz Zahra (AS) and Seyyida Zaynab (AS). The function was held at the Bilal Hall, Mombasa.
The programme commenced with the Recitation of verse from Holy Quran with translation in English by Sis Kulsum Jamal and Hadithul Kisa by Sis Zahra Mawji.
A formal welcome speech was made by Sis Mumtaz Khaki on behalf of Mrs Sakinabai Dhalla, Convenor of the programme. Ladies from different communities were present. A crowd of more than 250 including elders, women and children made the programme a great success.
The programme included recitations of Qasidas on Seyyida Fatimatuz Zahra (as) by Sis Gulbanu Hasham and Sis Kulsum Mawji in Urdu and Qasidas on Seyyida Zainab (as) by Zahra Madrasah Group in Kiswahili.

Presentations were made on the Life of Seyyida Fatimatuz Zahra (as) by Sis. Sheila Molu in English. She reflected on the hardships she faced and behaviour of Seyyida Fatimatuz. She stressed on Hijab, as well as why the women of today consider her as the role model.
Another presentation was made on Seyyida Zainab (a.s) by Sis Fatma Bule in Kiswahili which was based on the tragedy of Kerbala. This touched the hearts of many in the audience bringing them down to tears.

An educative and informative Quiz programme was organized on the topic of Surah Inshiqaq, Fiqh Masail – Shakiyyat and Khums. The participants were from Zahra Madrasah Senior Section. This was one of the interesting parts of the programme where the audience was left dumb struck at the answers given by the students. Both the teams scored equal marks.

Before concluding the programme, Mrs Taherabai Jaffer presented vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with recitation of Dua and Ziarats by Zahra Madrasah. Tabarruk was distributed at the end of the function.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya would like to thank all the Participants and all those who attended the Programme. Special thanks go to the Convener, Mrs Sakinabai Dhala and her team of dedicated teachers of Zahra Madrasah who wholeheartedly worked hard to make this programme a success.
