On 1 May 2008 a delegation from The World Federation met with the Deputy Ambassador, Mr Arifi, and the Minister Councillor, Mr Ansari, at the Iranian Embassy in London. The World Federation delegation included the President Dr Ahmed Hassam, the Honorary Treasurer Ahmed bhai Daya, and Assistant Secretary General for Islamic Education Sheikh Abbas Ismail.
The meeting gave The World Federation and the Iranian Embassy officials the opportunity to discuss key areas of input and possible cooperation. Dr Hassam provided an overview of the important work The World Federation is engaged in, including Tableegh through the media in the form of Radio Fatima (www.radiofatima.com). He also briefed Mr Arifi on the situation of Tableegh within the United Kingdom and the various challenges facing Muslims.
Dr Hassam commented, "Mr Arifi was very welcoming and we had a fruitful discussion. I hope that The World Federation can work closely with the embassy in our shared objectives. Such meetings will inshAllah become a regular feature of our calendar so that the excellent work of The World Federation can develop and reach even more people."
