The World Federation Islamic Education held a two-day workshop for teachers in Dubai. The sessions were conducted by Sister Nikhat Panjwani.
The workshop was aimed at the application of techniques to engage learners through active learning. During the workshop, it was observed that many teachers were doing excellent teaching and had developed resources which needed to be shared with other teachers.
Sister Nikhat stated, “I was overwhelmed by their warmth and enthusiasm, where all teachers participated and demonstrated a high level of intelligence coupled with a genuine keenness to serve the mission of the madressa”.
In response to the workshop evaluation question, “How do you plan to use what you have learned in your role?” some of the responses were:
“Make a list of ideas and use as a referral sheet before each lesson”.
“Plan my lesson better including the various activities introduced”.
“By using mind mapping”.
“To interact more with other teachers to get ideas”
“Change classroom setting”.
