Wiladat of Sayyidah Fatima (sa) celebrated at Dar al-Zahra (sa)

Updated 21 July 2010

On the auspicious occasion of the Wiladat of the Lady of Light, Sayyida Fatima Az-Zahra (sa), the WF-Qum Office had the honour of hosting two programmes in remembrance of this auspicious day. This day is also commemorated across the Islamic Republic as Mother’s/Women’s day, in recognition of the great status of Sayyidah Fatima (sa) as the Lady of the Women of all worlds as well as the Mother of the Imams (as).

The first programme held on the eve of 20th Jamadiul Thani started with recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by a beautiful Qasida recitation by Br. Fayyaz Hasanali. What followed was an insightful lecture by the speaker for the night - Shaykh Ali Arastu.

In his light-hearted style, Shaykh Arastu tackled current issues affecting the Muslims in this day and age, while taking direct lessons from the life of the Divine Lady (sa).He discussed the need for the Muslims and especially the students of the Hawza to tackle the modern day problems of the post-modern Ayyam al-Jahillyyah, by analyzing those from the origins of Islam in the 7th century.

The second programme held on the evening of 20th Jamadiul Thani was a continuation of the Dars-e-Akhlaq sessions conducted by Agha Sayyid Mahmood Kaviani. As part of his series of discussions of the love of the Almighty, he drew from the life of the Great Lady of Light such lessons that are applicable even in this day and age.
