The World Federation is pleased to announce the establishment of an IEB office in the centre of Shia learning, the Holy city of Qum. Situated at Dar al-Zahra (s), the IEB Qum Office will seek to achieve the following objectives:
- To organise and manage various projects and activities such as designing and implementing short courses, translating academic material into English and answering questions by the Ulama
- To coordinate activities with our community students in Qum and the committees they have formed
- To play a major role in recruiting suitable students to take up continuous Islamic education
- To assist students with gaining admission to the Hawza as well as with their progress during the course of their studies
- To establish strong relations with various organisations based in Qum and coordinate activities with them
Sheikh Mohammed Ali Ismail from Peterborough, England has been appointed Head of the IEB Qum Office. Sheikh Mohammed Ali studied Law in Leicester and having gained his degree, pursued Islamic studies in the Hawza of Qum. He has been studying there for eight years and is currently undertaking specialised studies and research having completed a BA in Islamic Studies.
