The Youth Desk of The Council of European Jamaats had created a short online Muharram Quiz for all community members to take part. With 36 questions in four categories (History, Fiqh, General Knowledge, Quran); this quiz was designed to encourage everyone to answer these questions by going on their own fact-finding mission. There were two £50 prizes to be won; one for under-16s and the other for 16+.
The CoEJ Muharram Quiz received a phenomenal response with exactly one-hundred entrants taking part from all over the world. Entries were predominantly received from Europe, but community members from as far away as Dar-es-Salaam, Burundi and Hyderabad also took part.
The winners for the quiz were split between the two categories (under 16s, and those aged 16 and over).
We are very happy to announce that Ghulam Hussain Zailai from Leicester won the under 16s section with a score of 31, and Sister Zahra Jaffer from Wessex won the 16+ category with a score of 35 (out of a possible 36).
