The students of the Al-Khoei Foundation’s Al Sadiq and Al-Zahra Schools in the United Kingdom held a fundraiser in support of the earthquake victims in Haiti. All in all, they raised £4,000 GBP which they divided equally between The World Federation (for long term projects) and another registered charity (for immediate aid).
Students of both schools raised the funds by selling home-cooked meals to fellow pupils. The event was high spirited and everyone was delighted by the immense generosity shown by students and staff alike.
ABOUT THE AL-SADIQ AND AL-ZAHRA SCHOOLS
The Al-Sadiq School for Boys and the Al-Zahra School for Girls are both full-time Schools which opened in 1991 under the guidance of the Al-Khoei Foundation in London, UK.
Al-Sadiq and Al-Zahra schools strive to attain high educational standards in combination with the spiritual, religious and cultural needs of the students who come from a variety of different social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The aim of the school is to provide an education that stresses virtues such as discipline, dedication, family values, community spirit, respect and tolerance towards others. They endeavour to achieve this goal in accordance with the Islamic faith and prepare pupils towards entry into further and higher education.
Over the last ten years, the Al-Sadiq and Al-Zahra Schools have acquired a growing reputation for academic excellence and spiritual growth. The school’s principal objectives include providing students with:
- An academic environment which promotes a good work ethos and encourages them to acquire a critical approach to learning;
- An appropriate academic challenge which enables each pupil to realize his or her full potential;
- Opportunities for boys and girls to serve and appreciate better, the School and the wider community;
- A caring, supportive and well-ordered environment in which children from a variety of cultural and social backgrounds can feel secure and equally valued so that by the time they leave, they have developed into mature, sincere and diligent young individuals.
The World Federation takes this opportunity to thanks all of the students and staff of the Al-Sadiq and Al-Zahra Schools for their incredible contribution to the HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND.
President of The World Federation, Dr. Asgar Moledina expressed, “The students and staff of the Al-Sadiq and Al-Zahraa Schools have demonstrated both leadership and the true spirit of Islam through their humanitarian efforts. The administration is indeed working hard to infuse the great teachings of our faith with academic excellence to cultivate high moral values and ethics in the hearts of the students. May the Almighty grant them continued success both in this world and in the hereafter.”
