“When Allah wants good for a community, He increases their scholars and decreases their ignorant ones, so when the scholar speaks, he finds supporters, but when the ignorant one speaks, he is defeated.” The Holy Prophet (S)
To promote every success in educational endeavours, The World Federation in partnership with The Africa Federation, Council of European Jamaats and NASIMCO is launching the COMPUTERS FOR STUDENTS drive to raise funds to purchase new and refurbished laptop and desktop computers for students of Islamic Hawzas and community schools in the developing countries.
HAWZA STUDENTS
Over 100 Hawza students studying in Qum, Najaf, Syria and India do not have computers from which they can research, communicate with fellow students and individuals or work from as part of their learning. Affordability is the hindrance to progressing in an IT dominated world.
COMMUNITY STUDENTS
In addition, over 300 community students in Africa, Pakistan and India do not have access to computers. Providing these children with workstations creates educational opportunities for children living in poverty. These opportunities include:
- A window to the world beyond their local town
- Access to limitless amounts of information
- A mode to communicate and connect with each other
- A medium to create opportunities for their future
SPONSOR A COMPUTER
Celebrate MILAD UN NABI by sponsoring a computer for a student in need. When you support the progress of education, you are supporting a cause that was very near and dear to the Holy Prophet of Islam (S).
The World Federation is sourcing new and refurbished laptop and desktop computers. Through the ‘Computers for Students’ Drive, we hope to raise enough funds so that we can provide our learners with computers to support their educational journey.
Shan-E-Abbas Hassam, Executive Councillor who is leading the Relief Team said: 'We are undertaking this new project after much feedback from agencies and partners that computers and laptops are critically necessary for our schools, Madrasahs, Hawzas and learning institutions. We must recognise that IT skills are crucial to developing as individuals and students will not be able to compete in the 21st century without strong IT skills. This is a key focus for us and we must make every effort to assist those deserving students who currently do not have access to these basic resources.'
