Muharram 1431: Sewing Machines gifted to Az-Zahra Association – Sri Lanka

Updated 26 January 2010

On 29 December 2009 – 11th Muharram, the Az Zahra Association received a gift of six Singer Sewing Machines from Sister Rahimi Gorji - wife of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Sister Rahimi visited the Az Zahra Centre together with Sister Sulaymani and Sister Yousefi. They were received by Members of Az Zahra Association, the sewing teacher - Sister Rizana, and approximately 30 students attending the sewing class conducted by the association.

Sister Zaveeni Jalill, Sister Rahimi and Sister Yousefi all spoke about Imam Husain (a.s.) and the significance of the event that took place in Kerbala. The students were very happy with the talks and asked several questions regarding Imam Husain (a.s.) and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (a.s.). All the speakers stressed on the importance of fighting for the rights of the oppressed.

May the Blessings of Allah (SWT), our Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (a.s.) always be with each and every one who helps assist those in need. (Ameen).
