CREATE YOUR LEGACY
When a man dies, people ask what he has left behind as a legacy, and angels want to know what he has sent forward, (good deeds and good words). May God have mercy upon you, send something in advance to the place where you will have to follow; it may be a sort of a loan on God to be repaid to you on your arrival. Do not leave all of yours behind; it will be a drag upon you. (Imam Ali (as), Nahjul Balagha, Khutba 208 – An Advice to his Companions)
In the above hadith, Imam Ali is urging us to spend our wealth and our time gathering as many good deeds as we can in preparation for our death. Thawaabe Jaariyah is a type of good deed where the rewards of a particular action continue to benefit us even after we die. As we prepare for the hereafter, we should also look to perform those actions which are Thawaabe Jaariyah.
The World Federation’s Muharram 1433 Appeal: Islamic Scholars for Islamic Centres is an initiative that is classified as Thawaabe Jaariyah. When you sponsor a resident Alim in one of our new Islamic Centres across Pakistan, you are helping to revive the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (as) where men, women and children will:
• Learn about the lives of the 14 Masumeen
• Learn how to pray the Salaat properly,
• Learn to recite the Holy Qur’an as well as tafseer
• Receive guidance and gain Islamic knowledge
• So much more
For every word a child learns, for every individual that was guided from the Islamic scholar you sponsor in part or in full, you will continue to receive rewards during your lifetime as well as after your death. Please don’t miss this golden opportunity.
AMR BIL MAROOF, NAHI ANIL MUNKAR (ENJOIN THE RIGHT, FORBID THE WRONG)
Imam Baqir [a] said: "Verily, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong is the way of prophets and the method of good doers. It is such a great obligatory deed (wajib) by which other obligatory deeds can survive, other creeds can be saved, bargains are lawful, injustices are warded off, and prosperity can fill the earth..."
In Pakistan’s isolated villages, there is an urgent need for resident Islamic Scholars or Alims to provide religious guidance to the local people. At present, there is little or no guidance available. Because of poverty, the locals cannot afford the services of Aalims.
• Who is there to teach in the village madrasahs?
• Who is there to provide services such as weddings and funerals?
• Who is there to advise the people to enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong?
When we know that our Muslim brothers and sisters are straying from the path of the Ahlul Bayt (as), it becomes our obligatory deed to help them.
