Ramadhan Relief 1429: Serving Myanmar, this Year

The nation of Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in Asia and this Ramadhan we were able to make a difference in the lives of the Muslims there. Thanks to the generosity of donors and our partnering agency in Myanmar, together we have been able to provide much needed assistance to the impoverished Momineen of Burma during this blessed month of Ramadan.

The Financial aid that was sent to Myanmar was distributed in the form of foodstuffs such as rice and oil to needy families in the cities of Yangon, Mandalay, Pyay (Prome), Mawlamyine (Moulmeine), Taunggy, Kalaw, Thandwe, Myitkyina, and Dedaye.

Every Shia Masjid in Burma, as well as several Madrasahs, received funds in order to provide Iftaar for the Rozedaars. In addition, cash was gifted to the poorest families in order to help them during this holiest of months. We were also able to support the frailest and disadvantaged elderly members of the community by purchasing their medications, allowing many to fast who would have been otherwise unable to do so.

Finally, Qur'ans (in Juz portions) were distributed to Masjids in order that Momineen may take advantage of the added thawab that Allah (SWT) has promised to those of His servants who recite the Holy Book in this divine month.
