The Ramadhan Relief Program was extremely beneficial for our brothers and sisters living in Myanmar which included: underprivileged Shia communities, two Masjids, two learning institutions and the Zainabia Girls Orphanage Home.
Food ration distribution, Iftaar and sehri were organized for about 1,100 people who attended the masjids and other institutions. The masjid served Iftaar almost everyday. Basic food rations consisting of rice, cooking-oil and wheat-flour were distributed to 127 needy families with extra cash for petty use. In addition, senior citizens requiring basic essentials of living received some cash contributions. Aid was also given to 11 deprived religious leaders and their families.
A total of 142 Sadats who have little means of sustenance were assisted during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. These individuals can barely afford to send their children to school and Madrasah.
The Ramadan Relief Program also supported the deprived and the widows suffering from poverty and sickness. This program helped meet their needs and helped them to pay back outstanding debts.
