Sponsor Our Seniors Program in Bihar, India: An Example of 14 Seniors on the Scheme

Updated on 27 May 2008

The Holy Prophet (saw) said:  “He who decreases a grief out of the grievances of this world for his Muslim brother, Allah will decrease for him a grief out of the grievances of the Hereafter.”

The World Federation’s Sponsor Our Seniors (SOS) Program is gaining momentum. With the hope of sponsoring 350 destitute seniors in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, donors from across the world are reaching out to make life better for our elders living in desperate conditions. Thanks to the generosity and compassion of these individuals, 69 out of 350 seniors today are receiving sponsorship through the SOS Program.

The need for assistance is wide scale, and we can only do this through the community’s generosity. There are still 281 more senior citizens waiting for sponsors to come forward. These elders, who are living in severe poverty, deprivation, and isolation, are counting on your kindness.

The below is an example of 14 of the Seniors that are on the Scheme and that shall InshAllah be sponsored.

For only £10 GBP / $20 USD/CAD per month (or £120 GBP / $240 USD/CAD per year) you can make a difference in the life of a Shia Ithana-asheri senior. Whilst some of these seniors are Sadat, many are not; therefore Sadaka monies will be accepted towards this Program and allocated to non-sadat seniors. As a donor, we will provide you with a report on your senior(s) at least once a year.
