The World Federation of KSIMC and Hussaini Foundation are working towards creating housing solutions for the displaced flood victims in Pakistan. Volunteers have personally visited various villages and districts to identify the housing needs in the aftermath of the devastation:
SOUTH REGION:
(1) UPPER SINDH
- In the districts of Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Sukkar, houses have either been washed away or have incurred partial damages.
- Our volunteer report indicates that 139 identified families across 10 villages have lost their houses to the flood. These dwellings have completely collapsed and need full construction.
- Hussaini Foundation has allocated funds to begin reconstruction of these homes immediately upon obtaining the required documentations.

(2) LARKANA, QUAMBER SHAHDADKOT, TEHSIL MEHAR (DADU)
- In the Districts of Larkana, Quamber Shahdadkot and Tehsil Mehar, restoration of water hand pumps is progressing well. To date, 40 pumps have been repaired and are functional. The immediate target is to restore 500 hand pumps.
- There is still a need to provide food rations to the flood victims here.
- In Tehsil Mehar of District Dadu initial survey reports indicate that 791 families have lost their houses.
(3) DADU
- The distribution of food rations in the District of Dadu is continuing.
- The area here is still flooded and therefore the survey to determine the number of houses affected is scheduled to be completed by mid November.
- Preliminary reports indicate that at least 2,699 houses, 57 mosques and 19 Imambargahs have been destroyed in this District alone; these numbers are expected to rise when the final out-come is recorded.
- The intensity of the destruction in this area is higher compared to the other districts of Sindh.
