The World Federation’s Damascus Office Manager, Hussein Ravji, reports:
“The World Federation has continued to make a difference for the least able families in Syria this year. A constant smile of satisfaction was on my face while our team were distributing aid to families. I can never forget the praise and Duas of appreciation whilst we were distributing aid, from orphaned and widowed families. I thank all those who assisted through donations and not to forget that you had made a tremendous difference for families which continually remember you in prayer.”
This year the relief team in Syria distributed aid to Homs, which is about 150 km from the capital city of Damascus. Including assistance in the city of Homs, other villages including Mazra’a, Rabwa and Jinainaat were also a part of the relief programme. Approximately 500 Mo’mineen were assisted there this Ramadhan.
Other Mo’mineen residing in Zainabiya, Husseiniya and Dhayabiya, which are part of the county of Damascus were assisted with rations for the month. An approximate number highlighted was 200 Mo’mineen.
Each of these rations packages included:

After much of the aid was allocated to the needy families, more families in the town of Fua were identified who were in dire need of support. Fua is about 350 Km from Damascus where the population is around 25,000, all of whom are Shia Muslims. Alhamdulillah, the Ramadhan Relief Team in Syria has now assessed the area and prays that help can be extended there next year.
