"And they feed, for the love of Allah, the poor, the orphan, and the captive...” [Surah Al-Insaan: 8]

A man once came to the Holy Prophet (saw), and complained that he felt hardness in his heart.  The Holy Prophet (saw), said, "Would you like that your heart becomes soft and that you acquire what you need?  Then be merciful with the orphan, pat his head and feed him from what you eat.  This will soften your heart, and enable you to get what you need."

People often look out the window wondering what the world is like beyond gilded towers. At Al Muntazir Primary Schools, the staff and students believe in finding a way to cross those boundaries.

On Sunday, 26 October 2008, celebration and happiness filled the Girl’s Primary Campus when over a hundred boys and girls from Al Medina Children’s Home, Samarati and New Life Orphanages participated in a special Eid celebration held in their honor. 

It was a fun filled day beginning with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, an exceptional welcome speech in Kiswahili by Mrs. Moloo, lots of games, followed by salaat and lunch.

The chief guests, Mrs. Raziyabai Somji and Mr. Sadiq Alishan closed the program by presenting Eid gifts to all the children from the orphanages.

This day will forever be embellished in the hearts and minds of all those who participated in the event. May this be the beginning of similar programs where the bounties we are blessed with are shared – Ameen.
