Bombing on Procession on Ashura – Karachi, Pakistan

At least 43 mumineen were killed and scores critically injured in suicide attack on a Juloos  procession passing through Mohammad Ali Jinaah Road in Karachi, on Ashura day, Monday 28 December 2009.  According to reports reaching us, all the shuhadas will be buried today, Tuesday, 29 December 2009. 

This attack followed an overnight similar attack  in Muzzafrabad, Azad Kashmir, when again a number of mumineen were killed.

The World Federation is saddened to hear this news and condemns the acts of such violence and cruelty. We are currently in touch with our member Jamaats in Karachi to assess the situation and whether any immediate assistance is required.

We ask that you recite Surah Fateha for those shuhadat of Karachi and to remember their families in your duas.  May Allah give them the strength to bear their loss.
