Message from The President of The World Federation on the birth anniversary of The Holy Prophet (saw)

Updated 2 March 2010

As we prepare to celebrate the birth anniversary of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), The President of The World Federation, Dr. Asgher Moledina has prepared a message he would like to share.  He would also like to provide some information on the EXCO meeting that was held on 27 February 2010 in the U.K.

Dr. Moledina gives us the example from the life of The Holy Prophet (saw) and says, ‘As we celebrate the birthday of our Holy Prophet (saw) this week, let us take stock of the guidance provided by this holy soul and learn from his exemplary character.

His manners in dealing with the people and his way of life were so simple and gentle that when he was among the people and a newcomer wanted to know about him, he had to ask, `Which one of you is the Prophet'?

Bismillaheerahamanir raheem.

33:21 . In the messenger (Muhammad) of Allah, you have a beautiful (pattern of conduct) example for one whose hope is in Allah and the final day, and who spends much time in the praise and remembrance of Allah.

With this 21st Ayah of Sure Ahzab, I greet and say Salaam Alaykum to our entire world-wide community.

As we celebrate the birthday of our Holy Prophet  (S.A.W.) this week, let us take stock of the guidance provided by this holy soul and learn from his exemplary character.

His manners in dealing with the people and his way of life were so simple and gentle that when he was among the people and a newcomer wanted to know about him, he had to ask, `Which one of you is the Prophet'?

He had no love for luxuries or the illusions of this mortal world. He was never enchanted by any worldly things, and he invariably looked upon this world's life as a passing one.

The Holy Prophet of Islam spoke in short, meaningful sentences and was never seen or heard to interrupt anybody's speech

The Prophet treated everyone with great respect and considered nobility and honour to be owing to faith, piety, and good behaviour. He was not interested in wealth or status, nor did he revere anybody for his riches or position.

The Holy Prophet of Islam never attempted to retaliate against the insults and disrespect of anybody, and forgave people's mistakes or their misconduct. His reaction to the torment and disregard of the ignorant people was forgiveness and tolerance.

With such beautiful examples of character and behaviour, how can we as followers of Ahlul Bayt let ourselves to go astray?

As we work towards restoring unity in this community let us learn from the example of our Holy Prophet and abide by the teachings and principals from ALLAH (SWT) and as brought to us by his last messenger.

Let us commit ourselves to the truth.

Let us commit that we shall work on resolving our differences without hurting and abusing one another.

Above all let our underlying principals in resolving issues be guided by the teachings and behaviour of the Holy Prophet.

I am pleased to inform you that with your help we have managed to get a minibus for the autistic centre in Dar-es-alaam and have been able to secure funding for 3 years for the Zainabiyya Health Centre and the Aeinullah eye clinic in Lucknow.

The Zainabiyya Child Sponsorship scheme will be focusing more on sponsoring students in higher education and we have 120 students that still require sponsors.
We have begun a fresh needs assessment for seniors and women in our community so that we can better provide for their needs.

Today we are launching our "Laptops for Learners" appeal where we will be providing laptops to students in Syria, India, Pakistan and Africa to assist them with their studies.

I appeal to all of you to contribute generously towards such noble projects.

The Executive Council meeting was held on Saturday 27th February and resolved to move forward by calling for an extraordinary conference on 1st of May in Dar-es-Salaam so as to give the opportunity to everyone to discuss and debate on the last conference and find a way to move forward.  I trust and hope that all of you will make efforts to be present there.

It is important that we put our community first and foremost above all of our personal interests, We must bear in mind the cardinal principals of ISLAM and the teachings of our Ahlul Bayt and refrain from words (written and spoken) which will only further endanger the unity of this community. This is the only way for this community to move with success and confidence and in the path of SIRATAL MUSTAQEEM. Like at all times, we must remember that we have adversaries within and outside the community keen and eager to see the downfall of this community.

I hope that we will collectively counteract these divisive forces and prove to them that we will always stand united for the peace and progress of this community. I sincerely hope that my community will take this message seriously and work towards a positive and enabling environment to move forward and attain unity.

I conclude with the barakah of once again, the 56th Ayah of Sure Ahzab.

Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O you who believe! Send your blessings on him (The Prophet) and salute him with all respect and give yourselves up in utter surrender.

Wassaalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi wabarakatu
