Updated 30 2011
Between 17 and 26 November 2011, the President of The World Federation, Dr. Asgar Moledina visited a number of Islamic Centres that were recently completed across Pakistan’s flood affected areas in the Provinces of Sindh and Punjab. These newly built centres are sponsored through The World Federation in response to our appeal last year - Muharram 1432 Appeal: 40 Islamic Centres in 40 Days.
The main purpose of Dr. Moledina’s visit to Pakistan was two-fold:
• Firstly, to see first hand the progress of the construction of the 105 Islamic Centres that are sponsored through The World Federation
• Secondly, to meet with Hujjatul Islam, Shaykh Mohsin Ali Najafi in Islamabad to discuss the placing of Islamic Scholars in each of the newly built Islamic Centres. The World Federation is working closely with Shaykh Mohsin Ali Najafi, who is an eminent scholar and Patron-in-Chief of Hussaini Foundation and founder of the Al Kauthar Islamic University in Islamabad. To ensure that our centres are well utilised, and that people are educated in Islamic teachings, Shaykh Najafi has pledged to support this initiative by selecting, training and placing qualified Islamic scholars into the centres.
• While visiting Allama Taki Naqvi in the Islamic Centre in Multan, Dr. Moledina also requested Allama’s assistance in placing suitably qualified resident scholars in these centers so that the community is enlightened.
The need for Islamic Scholars in these new Islamic Centres is critical to the survival of the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (as) in the flood affected areas of Pakistan. To help address this critical need, The World Federation launched the Muharram 1433 Appeal: Islamic Scholars for Islamic Centres to raise funds to place qualified Alims in our new centres.
The World Federation is urging community members from around to support the “Islamic Scholars for Islamic Centres” initiative by sponsoring an Alim or making a donation. Your contribution will go a long way in reviving the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (as) in the region. Without your financial support, we cannot continue our progress here.
