The World Federation of KSIMC has noted with deep concern the recent daily killings of targeted Shia Muslim Community especially in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan. According to the reports, during the last week, at least ten innocent Shia Muslims, all professionals, were killed in broad daylight. The Pakistan Government appears to be impotent in curbing these monstrous crimes against the Shias and bringing to justice the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.
The President, Dr Asghar Moledina has sent a strong letter of protest to the High Commissioner of Pakistan in London urging his Government to protect the Shia Muslim Community in Pakistan both under the Shariah Laws and its own Constitution. The letter was copied to Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Geneva and to The British Foreign & Commonwealth Office, London.
The World Federation of KSIMC urges its regional members to send similar protest letters to the Pakistan High Commission/Embassies in their respective countries.
