The World Federation mourns the passing away of Marhum Nisar Sheraly

On 9 February 2010 the KSI community lost one of its active and sincere community workers: Al - Hajj Nisar bhai Sheraly.

Nisar bhai was a truly dedicated community worker, who had pledged his time and energy for the sake of Allah in helping others achieve excellence, especially in the field of education.

Achievements

Marhum Nisar bhai's achievements and accomplishments are many, spanning generations. Marhum always possessed an untiring zeal to achieve the best in all his endeavours and in support of the development of the community. He was an educationalist by profession, and had dedicated his efforts towards improving and enhancing the methodology as well as the medium of instruction for Islamic Religious Education in our madaris. He had been a mentor to many, as well as a faithful friend and companion, always seeking to share his knowledge and experience.

His firm faith and conviction in the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt [as] gave him a foundation from which he was inspired to work with such diligence in the madaris. He was successful in promoting best practices in the madaris and worked to improve the overall madaris experience for the young generation.

As part of the World Federation's Islamic Education Board, Marhum was appointed as the Islamic Religious Education Coordinator and this endeavor enabled him to visit most community madaris throughout the world. As a result of this, he was able to create and maintain an online resources' portal for Madrasah Teachers worldwide. He also presented in depth data regarding madaris and made a host of recommendations to The World Federation that has influenced its IRE policies ever since.

Brother Nisar visited several Schools and Madrasahs in UK, Europe, North America and Africa to conduct workshops, seminars, surveys and interviews with teachers and Heads of Schools to exchange ideas about the delivery of education in the most effective method. He had over 30 years of experience as a teacher, principal and curriculum leader in both Secular Schools and Islamic Madrassahs

Character

The true test of a person is their character. Undoubtedly, Marhum will be remembered for his cheer, laughter, sense of humour, his willingness to provide unreserved support which was available at all times.

His love for this community was reflected in his various activities largely focused at the youth and children He was an example to the young members of our community worldwide and he will remain as an example of how to selflessly serve a community.

The World Federation's Office Bearers, Staff, Volunteers, and especially the Islamic Education team, extends its condolences to the entire family of Marhum Nisar bhai and to the global community.

May Allah accept him with kindness, rest his soul in the most glorious and dignified place in Jannat, in the proximity of our Chaharda Masumeen (AS). We also pray for his sins to be forgiven, and for the family to bear the loss with patience, ameen.
