The Council of European Jamaats is the Regional Body of Europe representing the 16 Jamaats of Europe. At their Council Meeting held on 4 March 2007, their General body passed a resolution unanimously for The Council of European Jamaats to apply for membership to The World Federation.
The Secretary General received the application for membership on 20 April 2007.
As required by the Constitution, the application for membership of The World Federation of KSIMC by The Council of European Jamaats is being presented before the Third Executive Council in Dar es Salaam on Sunday 1 July 2007. As per clause 3.2.1 of the constitution, any application for Membership presented to the Executive Council, additionally requires the Councillors to vote by postal ballot. The clause is quoted below for quick reference.
3.2.1 All applications for membership of the Federation shall be directed to the Secretary General and shall be considered by the Executive Council and if found fit by the Executive Council at that meeting the Secretary General shall seek the votes of all the members of the Executive Council by way of a postal ballot. The Executive Council may in its absolute discretion accept or refuse any such application without giving any reason therefore.
