The World Federation of KSIMC and Al-Khoei Foundation attended the 25th Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva to highlight the rise of religious intolerance and its various manifestations,. As an International NGO with consultative status to ECOSOC of the United Nations, The World Federation of KSIMC is perfectly placed to discuss violations of human rights. Among the various flagrant violations of human rights, the rise of religious intolerance encompasses the issues that our civil society cares deeply about.
Shan E Abbas Hassam gives some insight into The World Federation of KSIMC’s upcoming Triennial conference
The Secretary General of The World Federation of KSIMC, Shan E Abbas Hassam, recently sat with interviewer, Sakina Datoo, and shared his thoughts on the upcoming Triennial Conference. This will be held on Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May 2014 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The World Federation conference is held every three years and allows the current team to report back on the work achieved during the term. The conference is attended by individuals from all over the world and this year, over 100 delegates and invitees are expected to attend.

Al-Aqila Middle School Project: sponsorship opportunities to build 8 classrooms – Najaf, Iraq
The Al-Aqila Primary School is a Shia Muslim school in Najaf, Iraq which aims to provide excellence in education for the region’s orphan and non-orphan children. The Al-Aqila Middle School Project is a new initiative where graduates of the primary level can continue their education in a stable, caring and progressive environment. Construction of this new school in Najaf has already begun and The World Federation is pleased to support this initiative to ensure that children have the opportunity to continue their education in hope for a brighter more prosperous future.

The World Federation India Office has started preparations for the upcoming Youth Course in May 2014.The course is aimed at providing Islamic guidance & support, personal development and sports activities throughout the 3 days and 3 nights camp.
NASIMCO Annual Conference 2014
This year's NASIMCO conference theme will be Islamic Charities & Charity Law. Representation by all Jamaats at the conference will be greatly valued as we discuss how our community nonprofit organizations can strengthen their governance standards and improve financial accountability with regards to moving charitable funds. There will be a presentation and workshop by a lawyer to help understand local and international laws regarding charity and how to comply to those laws.
Pakistan Genocide Appeal: 25 sewing machines gifted to victim families to start small businesses – Pakistan
In March 2013, The World Federation launched the ‘Pakistan Genocide Appeal’ to raise awareness about and donations to care for victims and families of targeted killings in Pakistan. Wounded victims and grief-stricken families of those killed need support. Donations are used to cover a range of costs including medical treatments, ambulance charges, medicine, food, education and microfinance programs.

It is important to anticipate and react to future changes in the environment in advance for the effectiveness and sustainability of our community and economy. This paper has looked at different trends in both developing countries and developed countries focusing on where our jamaats are based, and which career would suit best these countries. The trend in the advanced economies of the world is towards knowledge based, high-tech, low carbon and cyber and digital security economies. This trend will also be felt in emerging and developing economies too, particularly in the Global Cities.
