Haiti Relief Fund 2010: Just in - Shia Muslims in Haiti

The World Federation has just learned that there are about 100 to 150 Shia Muslims in Haiti – where about 20 families live in Port au Prince and more in the city of Leogane. One of our brothers who survived the earthquake reported that the Al-Mahdi Centre in Haiti has been flattened by the quake and 7 children have lost their lives. Most of the Shia families are now homeless.

He was the brother of Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani and the religious legacy of Marhum Grand Ayatollah Taki Behjat. He was aged 99 years and was a student of the famous Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi.
