COVID-19 Global KSIMC Emergency Appeal

The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic at the beginning of March 2020.

This is a global emergency, and we need your help to keep people alive and to protect the most vulnerable in our community. This includes the elderly, those who have lost their livelihood and many others with underlying health conditions and financial difficulties.

As shops, businesses, and mosques close around the world, our community needs us to pull together more than ever. Many families are in isolation around the world, unable to buy the groceries or medication they so urgently need. And for the vulnerable members of our community in particular, getting access to food supplies and medication is crucial, yet extremely challenging.

The World Federation is launching an urgent emergency global KSIMC appeal to support our global community during this crisis.

The World Federation calls on all community members to donate to this urgent appeal to help save lives, and as a global community organisation where our core value is to serve our community members around the world – for the sake of our community, we need YOUR help.

Through your donations, we will be supporting at least 5,000 Khoja families around the world by providing them with necessary rations, food and medical support to get them through the next three months.

At the time of publication, there are almost 900,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in over 180 countries and territories around the world, and many more still undiagnosed. Over 44,000 people have died due to the virus. These numbers are changing on a minute by minute basis. We have no time to waste. Our global community needs us.

We are setting an initial target of $2+ million to help at least 5,000 Khoja families around the world. This amount can help these families for food, medicines, and equipment (for both burial and testing) for 2-3 months.

We have received countless offers of support from our community. We understand you all want to do your part and help protect the vulnerable members of our community. This emergency appeal is your chance to help.

In the recent advice given to us by The Office of Al-Sayed Al-Sistani to all believers on dealing with the Coronavirus epidemic he stated the following amongst other advice:

“Turn to Allah Almighty and ask Him to push away this tribulation, increase doing righteous deeds such as giving charity to the poor, helping the weak, reciting the Holy Qur'an, and the supplications of the Prophet (s) and his immaculate Holy Household (a).”

Help the families that have been harmed as a result of the current situation because their livelihoods have been effected by the stoppage of work and the restrictions on people's movement.”

We ask you to please take this seriously and to continue to stay updated on the advice given by your government, as this is how you can best help protect families through this difficult time. Donate today by clicking on the button below and searching for "COVID".
