On the 18th of November 2023, Alhaj Safder Jaffer, WF President, briefly visited Mumbai, India. The primary purpose of his visit was to attend a significant event hosted by the Mumbai Jamaat, focusing on the graduation and recognition of students who successfully completed various levels of education, spanning universities, colleges, and primary and secondary education.

Starting the visit, Alhaj Safder Jaffer held discussions with the Executive Committee of the Mumbai Jamaat. The meeting centered around critical areas such as education, health, and housing, emphasising the multifaceted approach to community development.

Following the meeting, The WF President met with Agha Abidi, the Imam e Juma of Dongri Khoja Mosque in Mumbai. Subsequently, he visited the Arambagh Kabrastan, where heartfelt tributes were paid to the shuhada of the Khoja community.

The delegation then proceeded to witness the largest Khoja wall, measuring an impressive 40 by 12 feet, showcasing the rich heritage of the Khoja community.

The visit concluded with attendance at the graduation event, marking the collective celebration of academic achievements and the commitment to advancing education within the community. Alhaj Safder Jaffer made an address during the event, emphasizing on the importance of education in various fields in our communities across the globe.

The event also featured a dedicated table for the Youth in India to participate in The WF Youth Task Force survey. This survey, conducted across all regions, served as a platform for the youth to share their thoughts, experiences, and ideas. The honest feedback from the youth is immensely valuable, providing crucial insights that not only enhance the understanding of the Task Force but also play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our community. Their active participation ensures that the voices and perspectives of the youth are integral to the ongoing development and progress of our community.

Alhaj Safder Jaffer’s trip to Mumbai exemplified a concerted effort to engage with various aspects of community life, reflecting WF’s commitment to holistic development with particular focus on education and fostering connections within the global community.
