WF President’s Site Visit Marks 60% Completion of Lebanon Prefab Housing Project
Lebanon: Prefab Housing
Salaam Alaykum,
Alhamdulillah, WF-AID is pleased to share an update on the Lebanon Prefab Housing Project.
Thanks to your continued generosity and the dedicated efforts of our partners, the project is progressing with strong momentum. We are especially encouraged to report that approximately 60% of the Prefab housing project has now been completed — a significant milestone in our shared commitment to restoring safety, dignity, and stability for families displaced by conflict and economic hardship in the South of Lebanon.
Important progress was recently observed during a site visit by Alhaj Safder Jaffer, President of The World Federation, who conducted a first-hand inspection of the project site. Working alongside representatives from the Imam Hasan Foundation, Australia, who are our collaborators, he verified that the houses met the necessary quality standards for families.
In addition to the prefabricated homes, he also visited the prefabricated medical centres installed and supported by WF-AID in partnership with the Imam Hasan Foundation, Australia. These centres were officially launched during his visit in December 2025, allowing him to review the facilities and medical equipment intended to support families in the surrounding area. The visit served as a powerful reminder both of the scale of need on the ground and of how far the project has progressed. WF-AID humbly asks its community to continue supporting this initiative so that it can be brought to full completion.
As part of this initiative, 200 prefabricated homes are being constructed, with 100 homes fully funded by WF-AID. Each unit includes two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom, and is built using high-quality materials and insulation to provide a dignified, safe, and medium-term living solution for displaced families.
Over the past month, newly delivered units have entered the next phase of preparation. This includes groundworks and the installation of essential utilities — electricity, water, and sewage — undertaken in close coordination with local authorities. Insha’Allah, we aim to begin the beneficiary allocation process in the near future.
Your support continues to transform lives. As we move into the remaining phases of this vital project, we humbly call upon our community to come together once more, so that every family affected by this crisis can access the basic necessity of safe and secure shelter.
