We will surely test you with a measure of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth, lives, and fruits; and give good news to the patient. Those who, when an affliction visits them, say, ‘Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him do we indeed return.’
[Qur’an 2:155/156]
The Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri community, through the World Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities and its Regional Federations, expresses its profound grief and sorrow and extends heartfelt condolences to the Imam of our Time (aj), to the esteemed scholars, and to all mumineen on the assassination of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (RA).
He was regarded as a Marja‘ for millions of Shia Muslims across the world. In moments of such immense grief and turmoil, the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) guide us toward patience, dignity, and unwavering trust in the justice and wisdom of Allah (SWT). We pray that Allah (SWT) grants strength and patience to all those affected by this tremendous loss.
The World Federation remains in close communication with the office of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (DA) in Najaf and with our scholars in the seminaries, and has conveyed condolences on behalf of the global community to the scholars and to the affected families and communities.
His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani (DA) in his condolence statement made the following supplication “I ask Almighty God for the exalted ranks and divine pleasure for the departed, and for all those who mourn, enduring patience and great reward.”
To our communities around the world, we urge calm, unity, and reflection. Let our response embody the highest values of our faith: solidarity, prayer, and steadfastness upon truth and justice. In this blessed month of Ramadan, we call upon communities everywhere to pray to Allah (SWT) for all victims of violence and conflict and pray for the ummah through the profound dua-e-Iftitah.
May Allah (SWT) protect the Ummah, unite the hearts of the believers, and grant us the strength to uphold the legacy of faith, patience, and principled leadership in these testing and difficult times.
