Building Bridges of Faith

The World Federation President Alhaj Safder Jaffer had the opportunity to meet His Excellency the Supreme Pontiff, Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican.

He was accompanied by the Head of International Outreach Sheikh Nadir Jaffer, and a group of Momineen from the Francophone community facilitated by Sheikh Haniphe Akbaraly.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Pontiff & other leaders of the Vatican. On the occasion a memento on behalf of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Community was presented.

The President Alhaj Safder Jaffer & His Excellency Pope Leo XIV had a candid exchange on the global situation, particularly human suffering and the plight of those in distress.

He appreciated the concern shown by the Pontiff for the situation in Gaza, his powerful call for peace & justice in recent sermons and welcomed his visit to Lebanon.

He also presented the emblem of the flag of the shrine of Imam Hussain (a) who remains a source of inspiration for those seeking truth and justice; the gesture was greatly appreciated by His Excellency.

The Pontiff was briefed on the wide range of interfaith activities undertaken by the International Outreach department of The World Federation.

Finally, the World Federation’s various publications were presented, in particular the French book titled “The Wisdom of Jesus, son of Mary – a compilation of Ahadith from the Ahlulbayt (a) regarding the sayings of Prophet Isa (a)”

In these difficult times, it is vital for people of faith to come together and work hand in hand to serve those most in need.

In the immortal words of Ameer ul Momineen (a) ‘People are of two types, they are either our brothers in faith or equal in humanity’.
