Following the tributes on the evening of Day Two, the audience listened to a recorded majlis by Marhum Mulla Asghar, marking 25 years since his passing. Centred on Surah al-‘Asr, the majlis reminded the audience that the capital Allah has given each person is their time, and that the greatest loss is to waste it.
Mulla Asghar spoke of the exception the surah makes for those who believe, do good deeds and encourage one another to truth and patience, and reminded the audience that what is often lacking is not knowledge but acting upon it. He described a life spent in the service of others as the richer life, like a candle that gives light to those around it.
The majlis concluded with the story of Zuhayr ibn al-Qayn, who tried to avoid meeting Imam Husayn (a) on the road to Kufa, but, urged by his wife to answer the call of the son of Bibi Fatima (s.a), went on to give his life at Karbala.
The Vice President of The World Federation, Alhaj Habib Meghjee, delivered the closing remarks of the WF50 Heritage Weekend. “Yesterday we looked back with gratitude. Today we look forward with hope,” he said, calling on the community to invest in its people, strengthen its institutions and remain united across the regions. He thanked all who took part and made the weekend possible, and the programme closed with ziyarat, followed by dinner.
