On the evening of Day Two, departments of The World Federation presented their progress and plans in line with Vision 2050, and launched several new initiatives. Shaykh Alexander Khaleeli (Head of ICAIR) described how ICAIR brings the community’s questions to scholars, citing its work on end-of-life care, which took clinicians to Najaf and resulted in guidance now used by healthcare professionals. He announced the pilot of Huda, an app that answers religious questions based on the rulings of His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani (DZ).
Hawza Online reported 396 students from 40 countries since its establishment in 2021, with the aim of a qualified scholar serving every Jamaat by 2050, while the Risalah Training Institute announced practical handbooks for 2027 and its first Thaqalayn Leadership Programme with NASIMCO. The Madrasah Centre of Excellence reported that it has trained 5,469 teachers over five years, set out a vision of lifelong learning, and launched the Tarbiyah Tutor, an AI tool built on its curriculum.
The Secretariat encouraged everyone to register for OneID and premiered KSI Connect, a new platform for the global community created by Aahil Merchant of Mumbai, with a professional directory, mentorship and a jobs board. Mohammad Mahdi Karim (Nominated Councillor, The World Federation) set out plans to strengthen The World Federation’s engagement with the United Nations, other faith communities and civil society, including a WF Public Affairs Board.
Following Maghrib salaa, WF-AID presented a film looking back from the year 2050 at the milestones of Vision 2050, from 1,000 homes and microloan programmes by 2030 to the eradication of poverty in the Khoja community. WF-AID now works in more than 25 countries and, between December and June, reached almost a million people, including more than 300,000 in Gaza and Lebanon.
