Ali Asghar Water Appeal 2026: First Set of Projects Are Moving Forward

The first set of projects for the Ali Asghar Water Appeal 2026 have now commenced, marking an important step in bringing safe and reliable water to communities in need.

Through this first tranche, £60,000+ has been allocated towards 19 units commencing across Pakistan, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. These include solar-powered borewells, solar-powered water wells, a reverse osmosis plant, and hand-pump wells, each selected to meet the needs of the communities they will serve.

Among the projects approved are two solar-powered borewells in Mansehra, Pakistan, expected to benefit between 5,000 and 7,000 people each, as well as an RO plant in Pakistan providing purified water for 300 to 450 people per day. In Tanzania, four borewell projects will support communities in Kwale, Pande, Kisesa Kona and Moshi Secondary School. In Kenya, two solar-powered water wells will serve communities in coastal regions, while in Uganda, 10 hand-pump wells will be installed across multiple districts.

Behind every project is more than infrastructure. It is a family gaining easier access to water, a child spending less time collecting it, and a community moving closer to a healthier and more stable future.

This is only the beginning, and many more communities are still waiting.
